Notre Dame defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio drafted 210th overall in NFL Draft by Pittsburgh Steelers

  • April 25, 2026

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Former Notre Dame defensive tackle Gabriel Rubio has been drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers with the 210th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Rubio had 13 tackles with a half a sack in six games this past season for the Irish. He missed the final six games of the season due to injury.

He recorded 66 tackles, 27 of them solo, seven tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and one forced fumble in 39 career games with the Irish.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle is the sixth Notre Dame player to be picked in the 2026 NFL Draft. Jeremiyah Love was picked third overall by the Arizona Cardinals, Jadarian Price went 32nd overall to the Seattle Seahawks, Malachi Fields was selected 74th overall by the New York Giants, Eli Raridon was selected 95th overall by the New England Patriots and Billy Schrauth was picked 160th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Steelers went 10-7 last season and won the AFC North division, but they lost to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.
