The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders split a seven-inning doubleheader with the Rochester Red Wings — winning the opener, 6-1, and losing Game 2, 9-4 — on Sunday at PNC Field.

Meanwhile, the New York Yankees recalled former top prospect Jasson Dominguez from the RailRiders on Monday. He will replace starting pitcher Luis Gil on the roster as the 2024 American League Rookie of the Year was sent down to Triple-A after compiling a 6.05 ERA in four starts for New York, according to CBS Sports.

Dominguez, 25, is batting .326 with three home runs, five doubles and 15 RBIs in 24 games for the RailRiders this season. He leads the team in hits (30) and stolen bases (8).

On Sunday, Phillip Glasser gave Rochester (13-14) a 1-0 lead with an RBI in the top of the second.

Paul DeJong answered with a two-run homer in the bottom half of the inning to give the RailRiders (14-12) a 2-1 advantage.

Yankees rehabber Anthony Volpe added RBI singles in the third and fifth innings to stretch the lead to 4-1, and Spencer Jones added a two-run homer.

Dom Hamel earned the win, allowing four hits, one run and two walks while striking out four in five innings.

In Game 2, the Red Wings scored the first seven runs before Dominguez hit a two-run single in the bottom of the fifth, and Duke Ellis hit a two-run triple in the sixth to cut the deficit to 7-4.

However, Andrew Pinckney put the game away with a two-run homer in the top of the seventh. Volpe didn’t play in Game 2.

The RailRiders start a six-game series against the Buffalo Bisons on Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at PNC Field.
