HANOVER TWP., Pa.- The Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA) Board of Governors is under new leadership.
During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the board elected its new officers.
Michael Stershic is now board chair. He takes over for Glenn Reibman. Stershic previously served as vice chair.
Frank Facchiano is stepping into the vice chair role. He last served as secretary / treasurer on the board.
Finally, Paul Anthony Jr. is taking over the secretary / treasurer spot.
The LNAA operates and manages the Lehigh Valley’s airport system, which is made up of Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) in Hanover Township, Lehigh County; Allentown’s Queen City Airport; and Braden Airpark in Forks Township.
The board consists of appointees from both Lehigh and Northampton counties.
Buying real estate near ABE
Also on Tuesday, the board approved the acquisition of a private residence near ABE at 1565 E. Race Street.
LNAA has purchased several properties in the area in recent years; the home at 1565 is “one of the last two” on its list, said Darren Betters, LNAA’s director of business development.
The properties are “important for us for future development,” Betters said, “not necessarily in the very near future, but down the road for sure.”
The purchase price is $295,000, which is slightly under the home’s appraised value, Betters said. In return, LNAA is allowing the current owner to stay on the property rent-free for the next six years, during which he will have to maintain the home and pay its property taxes.
March traffic numbers
Lehigh Valley International Airport’s March passenger data is out.
94,053 passengers used ABE last month, a decline of 1.26% from March 2025. Still, that marks the third best March on record for ABE.
Also, more than 27.2 million pounds of air cargo was processed through Lehigh Valley International Airport last month, a decrease of 3.8% from March 2025.
