The Upper Saucon Township Board of Supervisors on Monday approved zoning changes that could pave the way for a walkable neighborhood with 1,200 homes around the Promenade Saucon Valley shopping center.
The Promenade Park project along Center Valley Parkway would include 250,000 square feet of commercial space, as well as 60 acres of public parks and open space including “a farmer’s market green, a public dog run, and a mile-long walking and biking trail,” according to the developer’s website.
The plan by developer Arcadia Land Co. calls for the construction of 200 upscale townhomes, 850 luxury apartments and 150 senior living residences around the Stabler Pathways community. The project’s website states that the target for the development’s housing would be “young professionals, seniors, and empty-nesters.”
The first step for the project to move forward was a zoning change, which was approved Monday. There is no date for a groundbreaking.
