A driver is accused of hitting one of two juveniles who allegedly stole from a mini mart in Allegheny County. According to a criminal complaint, officials received two calls on April 24th. The first call reported two juveniles had stolen from Dee’s Mini Mart on St. Clair Avenue in Clairton. The second call, only minutes later, alleged a vehicle hit a juvenile near the Clairton Education Center. A witness told police he saw two young men running and being followed at a high rate of speed by a vehicle. He alleged the vehicle accelerated at the juveniles, swerved toward them and followed them onto school property, hitting one of them from behind.Police say they were able to view video of the incident which showed the two juveniles being followed by Ahmed Aziz, who was in a vehicle.At one point, authorities say the video showed Aziz leaving a road and driving onto a sidewalk to follow the boys. The surveillance captured the moment Aziz’s vehicle hit one of the boys’ legs, causing him to lose a shoe in the process, the criminal complaint says.Eventually the two boys were able to flee between houses. Police interviewed Aziz who allegedly admitted to chasing after the two boys in his car. When asked if he hit either one, police say he laughed and said that he didn’t but he tried. Aziz is facing multiple charges including aggravated assault.
