In response to continuous feedback from the community, the City of Erie has provided updates on how parks, trees, and open spaces are coordinated and managed. The updates were all created to simplify the interaction between the city and its residents. This all builds on the continuous work of the Comprehensive Parks Plan.
Matthew Falcone, Cultural Resource Manager, will now be the primary point of contact for anything regarding parks, trees, and open spaces in Erie. Falcone will continue his role as the Cultural Resource Manager by leading coordination throughout City teams, support community engagement, and continue to oversee the City’s Historic Preservation Program.
Gary Graham will be continuing as Chief of Parks. In this role he will lead maintenance and the operations of the City’s park system.
Former Sustainability Coordinator and City Arborist, Sarah Peelman, will now focus on advancing the City’s sustainability initiatives.
Any tree related topics will be coordinated through the partnership of the Bureau of Planning & Zoning and the Bureau of Parks.
