As we move closer to our nation’s semiquincentennial, local metal artist Adam Stempka is adding to his offerings of nationally approved pieces for America 250. He knows the national visibility is an amazing opportunity. “For the business and my family and just for the love of the country honestly,” Stempka said.
When the artist first secured national America 250 licensing earlier in the year, Erie News Now took you inside his studio and processes. Now he’s added some new designs that are more affordable. “I wanted everybody in any budget to be able to have a piece of this history. Of course we still make the hand painted one in different sizes, but we also went to a sublimated version in different sizes that’s essentially half the price,” he said.
And Stempka created a design that commemorates July 4, 1776 when the second Continental Congress adopted the final text of the declaration of independence, marking the birth of the United States as an independent nation. “I mean I hope that design speaks to people for this great anniversary–right on July 4th and resonates with people,” Stempka said, adding, “it certainly did with me, that’s why I chose that design, but I hope it resonates with other people too.”
But mostly he hopes that people truly understand the significance of our nation’s 250th anniversary, and our rights and freedoms – something that King Charles reminded us about in his address to a joint session of the U.S. Congress. “Cool to think — 250 years ago we were going at it with them and now all these years later things have calmed down. I think the same kind of thing will happen in this country — we’re going at it right now, but we’ll get through this, Stempka said.
