Erie Water Works will join in the celebration of Drinking Water Week. This annual observance is led by the American Water Works Association from May 3 until May 9.
This effort aims to highlight the importance of safe drinking water and the efforts of water professionals who keep the water flowing in Erie.
On May 7 a special event will be hosted to celebrate the completion of the Asbury Tanks Pump Station was a $5 million investment for the region’s water system.
The public is welcome to attend the first ever Drinking Water Festival from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on May 9 at the Richard S. Wasielewski Water Treatment Plant on Sommerheim Drive.
Attendees will receive a behind the scenes look of the Erie Water Works water treatment plant and activities will be provided. Food trucks will be available as well as face painting.
