UPPER MOUNT BETHEL TWP., Pa. – A family-run business is serving up specialty beverages such as a “Cowgirl Cold Brew,” “Lamb’s Wool Latte” and “Goat Snuggler” in a cozy and rustic setting in Northampton County.
Barn Brew Coffee & Espresso Bar, offering a wide array of freshly prepared coffee, herbal tea and other drinks, held a grand opening with the Slate Belt Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday, April 29, at 1584 S. Delaware Drive in Upper Mount Bethel Township.
Barn Brew Coffee & Espresso Bar recently opened in a portion of All Aspects at the Barn, a 4.5-year-old mercantile store selling antiques, new and vintage home decor and gifts and locally made items such as soaps, candles and food products inside a restored 1890s barn.

The property also features a wine bar, party pavilion, petting farm and children’s playground.
Husband and wife owners Ray and Becky Higgins opened All Aspects at the site in 2021 and saw an opportunity to enhance the overall experience with a coffee and espresso bar.

“We’re super excited to bring this to the community,” Becky told 69 News.
“I love a good cup of coffee, and it seems like I’m always traveling too far to find a cup. There’s not a lot of options in this area, and so I saw this as a way to fill a void. We’re located right on Route 611, which makes us a convenient stop for a lot of people driving this roadway. We also have a lot of people who take workshops here, visit our petting farm and wine cottage and just browse the store, and we’ve often been asked, ‘Can I purchase a cup of coffee?’ So, we decided to enhance the overall experience and offer some really great lattes and other coffee drinks.”
To prepare for Barn Brew’s opening, Becky took barista training classes at Coffee Project New York in New York City and received her Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) certification.
She developed a menu of classic and signature coffee drinks, including Americano, cappuccino, cortado, chai latte, mocha latte, macchiato and matcha latte.

Freshly brewed coffee starts at $3 for a 12-ounce cup.
Iced and cold brew coffee also are available, along with a wide array of hot or iced herbal teas and specialty lattes.
In line with the coffee and espresso bar’s rustic setting and on-site petting farm, several of the specialty lattes are named after animals, including the Lamb’s Wool Latte (white chocolate and mocha), Goat Snuggler (lavender honey) and Salty Donkey (salted caramel).
Other selections include The G.O.A.T Latte (brown sugar and vanilla), Highland Vanilla (classic vanilla latte) and Peaches & Cream Latte (peach and vanilla).

Extras such as flavor syrup pumps, cold foam, alternative milks (oat, coconut and almond) and extra espresso shots can be added to any drink.
Additionally, customers can purchase bagged coffee, with popular roasts and blends including “Breakfast Blend”, “Italian Roast,” “Jamaican Me Crazy” and “Death By Chocolate,” Becky said.
Nearly 20 locally roasted varieties are available, with other selections including French Vanilla, Maple Nut Crunch, Colombian Estate, Costa Rica Estate and Guatemala Estate.
“We’ve carried bagged coffee for a while, and it all comes from a local roaster,” Becky said. “With our new coffee area, we’re also now planning to offer some baked goods such as muffins, croissants and scones from a local baker.”

Barn Brew features a few indoor bistro tables, and guests also can enjoy their coffee outside while visiting the petting farm, playground and pavilion.
Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays.
“We’re really excited to welcome the community and to be enhancing the experience here,” Becky said.
“We were just in Florida in the beginning of January, and it seemed like every antique shop that we went into had a cool coffee shop inside of it. So, this will give people a chance to enjoy coffee while browsing the store.”
