PALMER TWP., Pa. – Police in Palmer Township, Northampton County say they are investigating after a false report of an active shooter earlier this week.
Police were sent to a business in the 4000 block of Freemansburg Avenue Tuesday at 5:18 p.m. for an active shooter report, according to a news release from the Palmer Township Police Department.
Responding officers spoke with a man on scene who was securing the property for the evening.
Township police said officers checked the entire property and found no evidence of an active shooter or criminal activity.
Officers continued to check the area and still confirmed there was no active shooter in the area, according to the news release.
Police said there is no threat to the community and the investigation is ongoing.
