A 65-uear-old man was killed in a crash that caused I-95 northbound through Bensalem to be shuttered for most of Monday morning.
According to officials, the deadly crash happened at about 4:58 a.m. along the northbound lanes of I-95 on Monday and led to the closure of the roadway’s northbound lanes from Street Road to Route 413.
Officials said the incident happened when a 2008 Ford Fusion, driven by a 65-year-old man from Levittown, struck a center barrier. The driver, officials said, was killed in this crash.
Along with this vehicle, police said a 43-year-old man, from Camden, NJ, who was behind the wheel of a 2006 Volkswagen Jetta and a 2005 Nissan 350z, driven by a 68-year-old Philadelphia man, were also involved inn this crash.
As of about 6:50 a.m., officials had not provided further details of the crash, but NBC10’s SkyForce 10 could see at least one vehicle, that appeared to be a silver convertible, involved in an incident as crews worked to clear the scene.
But, at about 9:30 a.m., officials said the roadway had reopened.
In a morning update, police did not say if the other drivers involved in this crash were harmed, but they noted that an autopsy would be performed on the driver of the Ford Fusion to determine his manner of death.
