Woman injured, cat killed after house fire in Pittsburgh

INDIANA, PA ON MAY 20TH. TALKING ABOUT THE WEATHER. IT WAS SUPER COLD THIS MORNING, BUT THINGS WARMED UP. WARM UP THIS AFTERNOON WITH THE HELP OF SUNSHINE. BUT THE CHILLIEST MAY 3RD. WE’VE HAD IN QUITE SOME TIME. THE MORNING LOW TEMPERATURE WAS 33. THAT WAS THE COLDEST START TO MAY 3RD SINCE 1995. SO A COLDER START TO MAY 3RD IN 31 YEARS. WE DID WARM UP TO 60 THIS AFTERNOON. SO A BIG IMPROVEMENT OVER YESTERDAY WILL CONTINUE TO SEE A BIT OF A WARMING TREND INTO THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEK, NEAR 70 TOMORROW, 72 ON TUESDAY. AND THEN TEMPERATURES WILL START TO TREND COOLER MID WEEK AS WE INCREASE OUR CHANCE TO SEE SOME RAIN SHOWERS. THE MIDDLE PART OF THE WEEK. I WANT TO STRESS NO DAY IS GOING TO BE A WASHOUT, BUT WE’LL HAVE TO BE DODGING SOME RAIN SHOWERS AT TIMES, ESPECIALLY WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. RIGHT NOW, TEMPERATURES HAVE COME DOWN A TOUCH FROM THOSE HIGH TEMPERATURES 58 IN CRANBERRY AND BUTLER, RIGHT NOW 59 IN GREENSBURG, UNIONTOWN’S 5759 IN MORGANTOWN, STILL 61 IN BEAVER. AND YOU CAN SEE JUST PATCHY CLOUDS ACROSS THE AREA. I THINK EARLY TONIGHT WE’LL SEE PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES MAY SEE A BIT OF AN INCREASE IN CLOUDS LATE TONIGHT. SO WE’LL GO BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN PARTLY AND MOSTLY CLOUDY OVERNIGHT. TONIGHT, TEMPERATURES WILL SETTLE DOWN TOWARD THE MID 40S. FIRST THING TOMORROW MORNING AT 7:00 AM. A woman was taken to the hospital, and one cat was killed after a home caught fire in Pittsburgh early Sunday morning. Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire said at 3:45 a.m., officials responded to a reported house fire at a home along Lindberg Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln Place neighborhood. Officials said the fire, a one-alarm, was contained to a bedroom inside and was extinguished shortly after 4 a.m. One adult woman was able to make it out of the home, fire crews said, and sustained minor injuries to her fingers. She also suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital. We’re told one cat inside died as a result of the fire. Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire said at 3:45 a.m., officials responded to a reported house fire at a home along Lindberg Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln Place neighborhood.

Officials said the fire, a one-alarm, was contained to a bedroom inside and was extinguished shortly after 4 a.m.

One adult woman was able to make it out of the home, fire crews said, and sustained minor injuries to her fingers. She also suffered from smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital.

We’re told one cat inside died as a result of the fire.

Pittsburgh’s Fire Investigation Unit is investigating the cause of the fire.

No other injuries were reported.
