The Mother’s Day market in Lackawanna County celebrated moms while supporting the Children’s Advocacy Center’s crucial services for local children in need.
DUNMORE, Pa. — Mother’s Day is exactly one week away, and community members in Lackawanna County are kick-starting the celebrations.
The “Mother’s Day market” was underway Sunday afternoon at the Holiday Inn in Dunmore.
Community members came out to celebrate all things ‘mom’ with some local vendors, talented authors, and some tasty treats.
Today’s festivities benefit the Children’s Advocacy Center, helping provide critical services and support local children in need.
“We’re so grateful for this opportunity, not only because it benefits our cause, which I personally believe our mission is significantly important, but it also brings awareness to what we do at this very crucial time. Mothers are a really important part of the role of keeping children safe and teaching them healthy boundaries, and it’s just a very nice collaboration,” said Meghan Gagorik from the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Today’s Mother’s Day market started at 1 p.m. and ended at 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn in Lackawanna County.
