Wyomissing officials have selected a Pennsylvania-based company to help lead the borough as they say goodbye to the borough manager.

Stonehill Ratliff LLC has been appointed to a transitional leadership role. The company will assist borough staff and council members in maintaining borough operations as a search for a new borough manager is conducted.

The move was made due to the departure of Michele Bare, who concluded her tenure as borough manager on Friday. Bare had been employed by Wyomissing for the past 18 years, the last four as manager.

Bare has accepted a new job outside of borough government, borough officials have said.

Council President Kristen Gajewski said in a statement about the hiring of Stonehill Ratliff that the borough remains in good hands during this transitional period.

“Wyomissing has always been built on strong leadership, dedicated employees and a deep commitment to community,” Gajewski said. “While transitions are never easy, we remain focused on continuing the level of service our residents deserve while also thanking Michele for everything she has contributed to this borough over the years.”
