A special event held Friday celebrated local career and technology students’ post secondary plans.

The Decision Day event was held at Reading Area Community College’s Miller Center for the Arts. It honored the achievements of students about to graduate from Berks Career and Technology Center and Reading-Muhlenberg Career and Technology Center.

During the event, students were recognized for the plans after high school — whether it be heading off to college, joining the workforce or enlisting in the military.

“This event is about recognizing our students’ hard work and commitment to excellence,” said Michael Stauffer, BCTC executive director. “Whether they’ve chosen college, the military or direct employment, each student has made a decision that deserves to be celebrated.”

Eric Kahler, administrative director at RMCTC, said the event is meant to recognize a significant milestone for students and their families.

“Decision Day is more than just a ceremony,” he said. “It’s a celebration of purpose, direction and the incredible potential our students bring to the table.”
