Blaze shuts down part of Main Street in Duryea, power shut off for hundreds

DURYEA, Pa. — Fire collapsed a roof Monday afternoon at a home in northern Luzerne County. 

Power has been cut to an entire neighborhood in Duryea while crews battle the fire on the intersection of Main and Stephenson streets. The outage is impacting an estimated 1,220 PPL Electric Utilities customers, the power utility said.

It was unclear if anyone was hurt. Part of the street is shut down while crews work.
