A new seasonal initiative has been launched by Millcreek Township. The initiative is the Spring Clean 2026 initiative that aims to provide resources for residents to dispose of household waste, leaves, and hazardous materials responsibly.
From May 4 until May 8 residents can leave bagged leaves at the curb for pickup during the regularly scheduled trash collection times.
Leaves need to be collected in clear or transparent bags and can be purchased through the Township or within most retail stores. A different Waste Management truck will come around to collect. Bags containing sticks, grass clippings or other debris will not be collected by these separate trucks.
On May 16 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at 2301 Millfair Road residents can attend a free paper shredding and a $3 per unit tire drop-off event. During this event electronics will not be accepted, free acceptable items include appliances without Freon, automotive batteries, bicycles without tires, scrap metal, textiles, washers and dryers, sensitive paper documents for shredding, and more.
This event will be open to households only. To drop off, the materials must be located in the backseat, trunk, or truck bed.
For customers looking to dispose of large items, one large item can be disposed of each week at no cost, these pickups must be scheduled through the Bulk Trash Request Form.
Residents can request for Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) items such as paint, electronics, batteries, and chemicals to be picked up through the WM At Your Door form. A separate collection date will be provided to residents with instructions included.
