Gannon University is adapting to the new era of technology, introducing two minor programs with a special focus on artificial intelligence.
For the past few years, they have worked on preparing students to enter a workforce in the presence of AI.

This past year, Gannon added something new to their mandatory introductory course, Gannon 101.
They incorporated a program developed by IMB, called AI for Freshmen, in which students had the opportunity to earn a digital badge in AI literacy.

Gannon University Provost Sarah Ewing said that after careful consideration, they are taking their efforts of AI literacy a bit further, introducing two new undergraduate minors called Artificial Intelligence in Computing and Artificial Intelligence in Business.
“The world around us is changing really rapidly and transforming the workforce around us. And so employers are looking more and more for future graduates to have the ability to evaluate, deploy, and utilize technology like artificial intelligence responsibly and we want our students to be prepared for that to meet that need,” said Ewing.
Ewing hopes that the new courses will be available by next fall semester.
