A replica gun was found after a fight Sunday evening at a Bethlehem park where a large crowd gathered, police say.

City police were notified of a possible fight planned about 6:45 p.m. at Yosko Park on the city’s South Side involving multiple juveniles, the department said in a news release. One of them was seen holding a backpack with what appeared to have a gun.

City cameras caught the boy removing the gun from his backpack and placing it into his waistband during the fight. When officers got to the park, the gun was returned to the backpack, the release states. A woman was holding the backpack, and officers detained her.

At the same time, a large crowd gathered around the park and East Sixth Street. The crowd began yelling at the officers, and the officers repeatedly told them to move back, the release states. The crowd eventually listened, and officers brought the situation under control, police said.

The backpack was searched and investigators found a replica airsoft pistol that was identical to a real pistol. A real firearm was not found.

A second woman was taken into custody for obstruction-related offenses, and police said she was released and issued a summons later.

Charges are pending against the two adults as well as two juveniles, the department said. The investigation is ongoing, and more arrests are possible.
