This weekend, a regional resource whose impact is now two decades in the making was recognized.
Friday night at the entrance of the peninsula, a party was held to celebrate the Tom Ridge Environmental Center’s 20th anniversary.
The gateway building opened in May of 2006 as a unique feature of Presque Isle State Park.
The party offered food and drinks to a well-dressed crowd.

The building, which holds nine organizations under its roof, is a collaborative effort in the environmental conservation cause.
The CEO of the TREC Foundation spoke about the many reasons to visit.
“They can come here, they can learn about the formation of Presque Isle, the history, learn about ecology and the wildlife that are here in this natural resource,” said Jennifer Farrar, CEO of the TREC Foundation.
The TREC Foundation and Presque Isle Partnership hosted Friday night’s 20th anniversary celebration.
