Adoption fees for animals 6 months and older will be waived during a special event May 13 at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County.
Hollywood Casino, Morgantown, is sponsoring the event from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the shelter, 58 Kennel Road, Cumru Township.
Potential adopters should be prepared to complete an adoption profile and meet with an adoption counselor to ensure the best possible match for their home, family and lifestyle.
Adopters are encouraged to bring all household members to meet their potential new pet. Those adopting dogs should also bring any resident dogs for a meet and greet.
Dog adopters must be prepared to pay $11.30 for a Pennsylvania dog license, as required by law, and should bring a collar and leash, or purchase one at the shelter.
Cat adopters should bring a carrier or may purchase one at the shelter.
No appointments are necessary for this event.
