Animal rescuers have removed over 50 animals in need from a property in Pennsylvania.
Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue shared details about the multi-team mission on Facebook. The event took place on Tuesday, May 5, after the organization was called in by the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) to Somerset County.
Alongside Abby’s Angels Animal Haven and the Philadelphia Adult Probation and Parole Department, Helping Hearts spent hours removing 52 animals from the property, including dogs, birds, a bearded dragon, and a goat.
“This was a major undertaking, and it could not have been done without the assistance of multiple organizations,” read the post, crediting and thanking over 10 local organizations for making the rescue mission a success.

PEOPLE reached out to Helping Hearts & Healing Tails Animal Rescue and has yet to receive a response.
Each shelter and rescue on the scene took “multiple dogs and will be in need of funds” to care for the surge of new animals.
Helping Hearts took in nine dogs, including one large adult, a medium adult (who suffered a seizure at the time of the rescue), and a medium-sized female with her six puppies.
This large-scale effort is one of numerous rescue missions happening across the country.
In late March, Wings of Rescue, a volunteer pilot organization that transports at-risk dogs and cats, coordinated with Paws for Life K9 Rescue to transport over 100 adoptable pets from Los Angeles Animal Services to out-of-state rescues where they had a better chance at adoption.
The rescue flight made room in L.A. shelters for hundreds of animals removed from a California property, which is now part of an ongoing legal investigation.
