MULBERRY — Scranton couldn’t be more excited to host the Class 1A state softball tournament for the first time in program history next week. But to get there, the Lady Rockets had to take care of business Thursday and did just that in impressive fashion.
Scranton had a combined perfect game from sisters Brecken Mainer and DeLaney Mainer backed offensively with home runs from Katie Vonderheide and Mackenzie Croft. That allowed Scranton to pull away for a 17-0 victory against Omaha in a three inning first-round matchup at the 1A Region 1 Softball Tournament.
