Police, fire and ambulance personnel responded to the 7400 block of West Chester Pike shortly before 2:30 a.m. Sunday for a vehicle accident with entrapment.
The first officer on scene asked dispatchers to step up the medics because a back seat passenger was pinned under a front seat, according to radio traffic.
There were two vehicles involved, a Volkswagen and a Nissan.
The Nissan driver reportedly ran from the scene and it was expected that driver had injuries from the wreck, and police were on the lookout for him.
One person was transported to Lankenau Medical Center from the scene with unspecified injuries, according to radio traffc.
West Chester Pike at State Road was closed for an extended period.
Official details were not yet available Sunday.
