READING, Pa. – Two men have learned their sentences following their conviction in the death of a Reading teenager.
Vashon Winfield and Hector Torres were sentenced to life without parole plus additional years.
A jury found them guilty of first-degree murder in March.
The pair kidnapped and killed 19-year-old Javien Perch in Reading in 2023. Perch was shot multiple times.
Police later found his body in a wooded area near the Reading/Alsace Township line.
A third suspect sought in the killing, Ansari Jalal, remains at large.
