BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Sammy Barona Sr., an assistant on former coach Scott McClary’s staff, has been elevated to head coach of the Bethlehem Catholic boys basketball program.
McClary stepped down in March after eight seasons leading the Golden Hawks program.
“Coach Barona brings over 20 years of basketball as both a professional player and highly respected coach, with a proven record of player development, program building and competitive success at every level,” Bethlehem Catholic stated in a release.
The Golden Hawks finished last season with a 12-11 overall record and qualified for the District 11 Class 4A tournament.
