(WHTM) — The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall of baked pita chips because they could potentially be contaminated.
According to the FDA, Legacy Snacks Solutions of Wisconsin is voluntarily recalling certain batches of its Giant Eagle Baked Pita Chips with Parmesan, Garlic & Herb because they could have Salmonella contamination.

The recall was initiated following California Dairies, Inc’s milk powder recall that was launched due to concerns of Salmonella.
Although routine testing showed that the seasoning batch for these recalled Giant Eagle-branded chips had no presence of Salmonella, the company is acting out of an abundance of caution.
No illnesses have been reported.
The FDA says this recall is limited only to the Giant Eagle Baked Pita Chips with Parmesan, Garlic & Herb with a best used by date of July 16, 2026, and a UPC code on the back of the bag that reads 0 3003496507 5.
The Giant Eagle Baked Pita Chips with Parmesan, Garlic & Herb were distributed and sold exclusively at Giant Eagle and Market District locations across Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, and Indiana.
Moving forward, consumers are told to take a photo of the product’s bar code and Best If Used By Date, then dispose of the chips.
