A new youth football league is coming to the city of Erie.

Organizers say it’s long overdue, and given the different lessons that the game teaches both on and off the field, it may be needed more than ever before.

In the city of Erie, students—particularly the young men—according to Archbishop Dwane Brock, have become dysfunctional to the point that they’re not doing well with their behavior or education.

To help with that, Brock has assembled what he calls “the best of the best,” including Roosevelt Benjamin, Jovan Crosby, and Michael Hooks.

The leagues will feature flag football for kindergarten through first grade, as well as tackle football for second through sixth grade. Thanks to Eagle’s Nest, Archbishop Dwane Brock says the program will be free for those who want to sign up.
