The Pittston Area High School Talent Show, held on March 17, brought together an impressive display of student creativity, musicianship and stage presence. The event, directed by Tara Turkos Craig, highlighted the dedication and talent of Pittston Area students, with performances ranging from full band arrangements to powerful solo vocals.
Taking first place was the band Beholder, made up of seniors Colter Sienkiewicz, John Kenny, Kevin Jombe and Ayden Pierce. The group energized the audience with their performance of “Enter Sandman” by Metallica, showcasing strong instrumental skills and a commanding stage presence that set them apart from the competition.
Second place went to the Fuller Fan Band, whose members include seniors Tyler Stephenson, Aiden Levandoski, Wyatt Russick, Matt D’Aiello, Hayden Heppding and Domenic Stella. Their rendition of “Don’t Look Back in Anger” by Oasis delivered a crowd-pleasing mix of musical precision and heartfelt performance, earning them high praise from the audience.
Finishing in third place was senior Paige Bittmann, who captivated the audience with her rendition of “I Will Always Love You,” originally performed by Whitney Houston. Her vocal performance demonstrated both technical ability and emotional depth, rounding out the top three with a memorable solo act.
Additional standout performances helped make the night even more memorable. Senior Wyatt Russick impressed the crowd with an electrifying drum solo, while Ethan Howe delivered a heartfelt acoustic rendition of Neil Young’s “Old Man.” Emma Singleton brought a modern pop touch to the stage with her performance of “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift. Underclassmen also made a strong showing, including Micky Sperazza on keyboard and Donny Haithcock on drums, both demonstrating impressive musical skill. Chris Nat added a unique cultural element with a lively Russian folk dance, and Ava Argento captivated the audience with her solo performance. The evening concluded with a powerful finale featuring all seniors, who came together for a spirited performance of “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, ending the show on a high note.
