The Erie Philharmonic took the stage this weekend for their season finale for a moving performance of Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem, bringing together nearly 200 singers and musicians in a tribute to remembrance and peace.
The concert also featured the Erie Junior Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra performing side-by-side with the Philharmonic for John Williams’ “Hymn to the Fallen” from Saving Private Ryan.
Organizers said the large-scale performance united powerful musical forces to reflect on the horrors of war while inspiring hope for reconciliation.
