Erie Water Works welcomes families for Drinking Water Festival
Families got a chance to learn more about what comes out of their water faucets today as Erie Water Works hosted its Drinking Water Festival.
The event is part of National Drinking Water Week and featured hands-on activities, education exhibits and tours of the Richard S. Wasielewski Plant.

The festival ran from 10 to 2 pm to have a fun, interactive experience while also showing how important clean drinking water is to everyday life.
Erie water works leaders said educating people now helps build a stronger understanding of water safety and sustainability for the future.

“It’s Drinking Water Week, so I think understanding the critical role that clean water plays in our daily lives is so important,” said Craig Palmer, the CEO of Erie Water Works.
The festival brought together experts and educators, hoping people would leave with a better appreciation for the work that goes into delivering safe drinking water every day.
