Springfield Thunderbirds News & Notes:

The Thunderbirds got to the Division Finals by beating Charlotte in three games. They lost the first game in blowout fashion but bounced back to take games two and three. The Thunderbirds then beat the best regular season team in the AHL in four games, winning game one before having the series evened in game two. They returned home and won both games in overtime to advance. They’re averaging 2.3 goals per game while allowing 2.4 goals per game in the playoffs. They went 1-3-0-0 against the Penguins in the regular season, averaging 2.5 goals per game.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins New & Notes:

The Penguins advanced by beating the Hershey Bears in four games. The Penguins took a 1-0 series lead before losing game two, but they won game three in overtime, then game four to advance to the Atlantic Division Finals. They’re averaging 3.3 goals per game while allowing two goals per game in that series. They went 3-1-0-0 against the Thunderbirds, averaging 4.3 goals per game.
