WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. – Fire crews responded to a rescue in eastern Berks County on Wednesday afternoon. 

Crews responded to the 300 block of Crow Hill Road in Washington Township, just outside of Bally.

The call for a rescue came in a little before 3:00 p.m., according to officials. 

Initial reports indicate a man fell about 30 feet below the surface because of what was described as some sort of “concrete tank collapse.” 

Initial reports said the person appeared conscious.

First responders had the person out of the tank around 3:25 on Wednesday afternoon.

There is no word on that person’s condition.
