SCRANTON, LACKWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A Scranton man will spend decades behind bars after pleading guilty to sexually assaulting multiple children and a vulnerable victim, according to the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office.
Tara Glan, formerly of Madison Avenue in Scranton, was sentenced by Judge Michael J. Barrasse to serve 43 1/2 to 97 years in a state correctional institution.
Prosecutors say the investigation began in April 2025 after the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alerted authorities to suspected child sexual abuse material being uploaded from Glan’s residence. Detectives executed a search warrant and identified several victims who had been assaulted.
Glan later pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges, including three counts of rape of a child and additional counts involving involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child and a person with a mental disability.
District Attorney Brian Gallagher called the crimes “monstrous,” saying the defendant targeted vulnerable victims and caused lasting harm.
Investigators with the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office, along with the Pennsylvania State Police Northeast Computer Crimes Task Force, handled the case.

The court also classified Glan as a sexually violent predator, citing evidence that the defendant used a position within a local church to gain access to victims. As a result, Glan will be required to register as a sex offender for life under Pennsylvania law upon any future release.
