There was yet another house fire in Delaware County in recent weeks, and more people displaced.
This time there was a house ablaze in the 500 block of Wiltshire Road in Upper Darby Township.
According to fire radio traffic:
Crews arriving Tuesday shortly after 8 p.m. found fire and heavy smoke, with flames throughout the first floor, and house was quickly engulfed in flames.
Wires were arcing and sparking and a PECO priority response was sought.
Crews attacked the flames on the first floor and the second floor. Searches were negative.
The incident was placed under control at 8:55 p.m. Investigators were called to the scene. There was an extensive overhaul.
The Red Cross was summoned to aid six adults and two children. The agency had not yet issued details Wednesday morning.
Board-up services were sought for 18 windows, three doors and a section of roofing.
An official account of the incident was not yet available.
Other fires in the past month included Sharon Hill, Collingdale, Trainer, Crum Lynne, Chester Township, Eddystone, Upper Darby and Collingdale again. Dozens of residents have been displaced.
There have been no apparent connections among any of these fires.
Assisting the Upper Darby stations were crews from Darby, Lansdowne and Clifton Heights fire companies.
