For Seawolves Education Day, over 2,000 students attended a game at UPMC Park.
Organizers say the event is about more than baseball, with math and science lesson plans available to students and educators.
“We’re encouraging young baseball fans but also, there’s a lot of ways that you can learn, and you can learn both in the classroom and you can learn in a real-world environment,” said Greg Coleman, President of the Erie Seawolves. “For us to have them out in the ballpark and maybe see some of the things that they learn, you know, whether it be math or science, seeing how that, you know, plays out actually out at the stadium.”
It was a great opportunity for students to learn in a hands-on way outside of the classroom.
