Local lawmakers and state officials gathered in Erie on May 15 to share insights on policy priorities and the region’s economic future during a State Legislative Briefing hosted by the Erie Regional Chamber and Growth Partnership.
The event, held at Penn State Behrend, is part of the Chamber’s ongoing Knowledge Breakfast Speaker Series and was presented by Infinite Erie. It brought together members of the region’s state legislative delegation for a discussion on how decisions at the state level are shaping economic opportunities across northwest Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development Secretary Rick Siger delivered the keynote address, outlining current initiatives and strategies aimed at strengthening the state’s economy. His remarks focused on efforts to support business growth, workforce development, and community investment.
Following the keynote, legislators participated in a panel discussion where they addressed key policy issues and shared their perspectives on economic challenges and opportunities facing the region. The conversation highlighted how state-level legislation and funding decisions directly impact local industries, infrastructure, and job creation.
Organizers stated the event is designed to foster dialogue between policymakers, business leaders, and community stakeholders, helping to ensure that Erie’s priorities are represented in Harrisburg.
