Locals had a chance to learn about their township on Sunday during a guided driving tour.
As part of the Erie County Public Library’s 2026 HistERIE week, guests explored Harborcreek Township and learned about the agricultural history on a bus tour.

The route followed along the Fruit Belt, the world’s oldest and largest concord grape growing region, historic Route 20, the Great Lakes Seaway Trail and other historic places from schoolhouses to cemeteries.
The Harborcreek Historical Society hopes to keep the township’s history alive with tours like this one.
“Harborcreek is a very fast-growing area here in Harborcreek, and a lot of people don’t know anything about it, and we kind of want to keep that knowledge here,” said Nancy Brown, a tour guide.
The HistERIE program has many more events scheduled throughout the week to help highlight Erie County’s rich history.
