This week, you can support survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation in the Lehigh Valley.
Bloom for Women will host its second annual Bloom in Style luncheon on Thursday.
It’s a fundraiser to help the nonprofit provide sanctuary for survivors and help them heal.
The group says the money raised will go directly to programs that help women find a safe place to live, a job, and support.
It will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Saucon Valley Country Club.
You’re encouraged to dress in your best spring attire and hats– there will be a designer and vintage handbag silent auction, a luxury bag raffle- and a clothing donation drive for My Sister’s Closet.
The boutique is looking for pre-loved spring and summer clothing, infant clothing, including preemie to 18 months and maternity clothes.
Those who work at the boutique say it’s like sisterhood for the staff and volunteers.
“It’s also the women that come in here shopping for job interviews coming up, if they are expecting, if they’re getting married soon… it’s a really great area for us to gather,” says store Manager Rebekah Fritchman.
And when they gather, they are able to provide that support for each other.
