Bear nabbed near soccer fields in South Whitehall Twp., will be relocated to wooded habitat | Allentown Area

S. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. – Police in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County say they caught a four-legged trespasser near some soccer fields early Tuesday morning.

Thanks to a quick and coordinated effort with wildlife officials, the black bear was safely and humanely captured, township police said in a Facebook post.

Police say he was safely loaded into a transport culvert trap and will be relocated to a more suitable, wooded habitat.

Both the bear and the officers are safe and unharmed, police said.
