MOOSIC, P.A. (WSYR-TV) — The Syracuse Mets saw their brief two-game winning streak come to an end in their series finale at Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, falling to the RailRiders 5-3.
The Mets jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI double from Christian Arroyo and an RBI single from Yonny Hernandez.
After the RailRiders tied the score, the Mets again pulled ahead in the sixth inning on another Yonny Hernandez RBI single.
The home team, though, responded with three runs in the bottom half of that sixth inning. George Lombard, Jr. tied the game on a infield hit. The RailRiders then pulled in front on a bases loaded walk, followed by a balk.
With the loss, Syracuse settles for a 3-3 split in its series with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
