EMMAUS, Pa. – Following the closure of a beloved, 40-year-old eatery earlier this spring, a new restaurant has set up shop at the same Lehigh County location, serving up Asian specialties such as Hong Kong-style fried rice, Singapore mei fun and lobster tempura rolls.
Asian Fusion, offering freshly prepared sushi, authentic Chinese cuisine and more, opened May 11 at 1328 Chestnut St. in Emmaus.
The restaurant, featuring dine-in service, takeout and party platters, occupies a renovated end unit in the Emmaus Shopping Center.
The space previously housed Ling Nan Chinese Restaurant, a fast-casual eatery offering Mandarin, Szechuan, Cantonese and Hong Kong cuisine, which closed in March after 40 years of business.
Asian Fusion features new flooring, counters, wainscoting, wall paint, dining booths, kitchen equipment and more, owner Leo Li told 69 News.
The restaurant is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 10 p.m. Sundays.
“We’re very excited,” Li added.
Asian Fusion offers appetizers such as edamame, shumai, spring rolls and shrimp or chicken dumplings; soups and salads such as miso soup, wonton soup, lemongrass pork chop noodle soup, kani salad and seaweed salad; and fried rice and noodle dishes such as Hai Nan shrimp pineapple fried rice, seafood fried rice, hibachi fried rice, lo mein and mei fun.
Guests also can choose from more than two dozen varieties of rolls and hand rolls (raw, cooked and vegetable options available; most $4-$6), including California, tuna avocado, eel cucumber, spicy salmon and sweet potato tempura; and more than 30 special rolls, (starting at $11.95) including Black Dragon (shrimp tempura, cucumber, caviar, crabmeat, eel on top with eel sauce), Green & White (salmon and lobster salad inside topped with white tuna and avocado) and Explosion (spicy tuna and asparagus inside with seared yellowtail and jalapenos on top with chef’s special sauce).
Other menu highlights include kitchen entrees such as coconut shrimp, Mongolian beef and kung pao chicken; and hot pots such as beef, vegetable and tom yum.
In its first week, popular picks have included six AF Combos, priced $13.95-$14.95 and each featuring four components, such as the AF4 (boneless ribs, sweet and sour chicken, two crab rangoons and white rice) and AF6 (honey chicken, sesame chicken, two crab rangoons and white rice).
