ERIE COUNTY, Ohio (WOIO) – Three people were rescued from Lake Erie Tuesday evening after falling into the water near Kelleys Island around 6:30 p.m.
A Coast Guard Station Marblehead 45-foot Response Boat was immediately sent to the area and found the first two people.
They brought them to an EMS crew waiting on shore.
A third person was unaccounted for, so the Coast Guard launched a rescue helicopter from Detroit.
Helicopter crew members spotted the third person treading water and clinging to a life jacket.
Coast Guard members on a nearby boat then brought that person to shore.
