1,000-plus power outages reported in Erie County Wednesday, power restored

UPDATE 2:01 pm: According to Penelec, power has been restored to all customers affected customers.

(WJET/WFXP)– Penelec reported over 1,000 customers in Erie County lost power late Wednesday morning, mostly in the City of Erie and Waterford.

According to Penelec’s live outage map, 1,517 outages were reported as of 11:46 am.

Outages in the city are affecting 1,099 customers in the Glenwood area, extending from Raspberry Street to German Street and West 32nd Street to Glenwood Park Ave., just past the Erie Zoo.

Penelec estimates power to be restored around 1:30 with more crews being called to the area to safely restore power. The cause is under investigation.

As for Waterford, outages extend from Old State Road between Martin Road and near its intersection with Sedgwick Road, and extend up to Greenlee Road just past Elk Creek.
