A young man and a teen boy were arrested in connection with an armed robbery that happened at a motel in Newark, Delaware, police said.
According to Delaware State Police, the incident happened on October 15, 2025, around 11:15 p.m. at a Motel 6, located at 100 McIntosh Plaza in Newark.
Police said that a preliminary investigation revealed a woman met a man online and agreed to meet at Motel 6. When the man arrived, a second man approached moments later, armed with a handgun. That’s when two individuals then demanded the victim’s money and property and then fled.
The victim was not injured during the robbery, police said.
Through an investigation, police stated that detectives identified 21-year-old Wah’kee Tabron, from Newark, Delaware, and a 16-year-old boy from Wilmington, Delaware, as the suspects.
On October 24, 2025, Tabron, who was already in custody at the Sussex Correctional Institution, was charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. Police said he will remain in custody on a $32,000 secured bond.
Police shared that the 16-year-old boy, who was also already in custody at the Department of Services for Children, Youth & Their Families was charged on October 24, 2025, with first-degree robbery and second-degree conspiracy. He is being held on a $15,000 cash bond.
