Central Dauphin student Vedika Burman to represent Pennsylvania at National Spelling Bee

A Harrisburg-area student is getting ready to compete on one of the biggest academic stages in her life.Vedika Burman, 12, a sixth grader at Central Dauphin Middle School, will represent the region at the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., next week. According to her biography on the National Spelling Bee website, Vedika enjoys math, reading, and playing the violin.She is one of eight students from Pennsylvania who will take part in this year’s bee, alongside competitors from communities across the state, including Downingtown and Pottsville.The preliminary rounds of the National Spelling Bee begin Tuesday, with the finals set for Thursday, May 28.The program is available to watch on ION, which is available on most platforms.

A Harrisburg-area student is getting ready to compete on one of the biggest academic stages in her life.
Vedika Burman, 12, a sixth grader at Central Dauphin Middle School, will represent the region at the National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C., next week.
