On May 23 the Erie Humane Society received a 5-week-old kitten who was in need of urgent medical attention. The kitten now named Sid had a severely injured and protruding eye that was causing poor Sid pain and discomfort.
First aid was administered including providing him with pain medication and antibiotics. On May 26 Sid will have surgery to remove the affected eye.
The shelter stated on a Facebook post that despite Sid having a rough start that he is active, alert, and in general doing well.
