Q: What accomplishments are you most proud of and why?
A: I am most proud of our Show Choir band being undefeated this year! Being a part of this group and leading the music behind the scenes for my whole high school career made this program an important part of my life, so ending it senior year with an undefeated season was truly the culmination of everything that my bandmates and I worked toward. We truly went out in a bang!
Q: Whom do you most admire and why?
A: I admire God the most. I am only where I am now because of Him, and it’s only right to give the honor to Him.
Q: What were your most rewarding school or community activities? Why?
A: The most rewarding activities were definitely Show Choir and Knight Ambassadors. The Show Choir was like my family in high school, and it gave me a community where I can share my love of music and performance with others who feel the same way. Knight Ambassadors brings forth radical change and positivity within our school community. It opened the doors to opportunities and relationships that I never would have had otherwise; from holding new student orientation and bring-your-child-to-work day to hosting our school’s first-ever Christmas Masked Singer Event, this group was what made all of that possible and made my school experience so much better.
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: I love to play guitar!
Q: What are your plans after high school graduation? Why did you choose this path?
A: I plan to pursue a degree in electrical engineering whilst building my own music and audio projects. Then I want to get my master’s and design guitar amps and pedals at big music companies.
Q: What is your advice to younger students?

A: It sounds a bit harsh in a way, but my advice is to remember that at the end of the day no one cares. So many people are so obsessed with what others think about them that it paralyzes them the second before they even make a move. You might feel that dropping your books in a crowded school hallway on the first day of school is like the end of your whole entire social life, but realistically, everyone who saw you will have that moment in time erased from their mind two seconds after they walked past you. So, who cares if you messed up a class presentation or if you put your shirt on backwards in the morning? Everyone does embarrassing things, and the more you realize that people aren’t judging you during every waking moment of your life, the more you get to live life without regrets.
Q: Finish this sentence: The most interesting thing about me is …
A: That I am a lover of good food with a chronic addiction to a strung-up slab of wood.
A little about Peter Kwee
Peter Kwee of Scranton High School is the valedictorian of his class. His school describes him as an exceptional scholar, an inspiration and someone who puts other people at ease.
He is the son of Fnu Bambang and Selly Fu.
Peter is an award-winning musician as band captain and lead guitarist of the school’s competitive show choir. His honors include being a WVIA Artist of the Week and being named a semifinalist in the highly selective Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship Program.
He is active in his church, a tutor and a school ambassador. He was a junior counselor for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp. Peter is a member of the National Honor Society, student council and Aevidum.
