PITTSBURGH, PA — A 15-year-old teen was shot multiple times Thursday morning in the city’s Stanton Heights neighborhood.

At approximately 7:20 a.m., police were dispatched to the intersection of Stanton Avenue and Woodbine Street, where they located the victim. He had multiple wounds to the chest and legs.

Officers rendered first aid and applied tourniquets to control the bleeding.

Preliminary information indicates the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Pittsburgh EMS paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital in critical but stable condition.

The Mobile Crime Unit responded to process the scene.

Violent Crime Unit detectives are conducting an ongoing investigation.
