A 25-year-old man will spend years in prison for causing a crash that killed a man over a year ago in Bethlehem Township.

Devin Rorrer, of Nazareth, was sentenced last week to three years and three months to 10 years in prison for the Oct. 20 crash that killed Kevin Ward, according to the Northampton County District Attorney’s office. Rorrer pleaded guilty in March to charges of homicide by vehicle while DUI and DUI.

Township police said Rorrer’s blood alcohol content was .155%, nearly the double the legal limit, when he caused the crash about 2:30 a.m. on Freemansburg Avenue. He was driving westbound when he hit the driver’s side of Ward’s vehicle, which was entering the road from Seventh Street.

Ward, 67, of Easton, was pronounced dead at the scene

Township police filed charges early last year. Rorrer’s attorney did not immediately return a message seeking comment Wednesday.
